Schalke have signed veteran defender Dante from Wolfsburg on a free transfer for next season, the "Royal Blues" confirmed in an official statement on Sunday.
After four years at Wolfsburg, 33-year-old Naldo has agreed on a two-year deal, which keeps him until June 2018 in Schalke.
"I had a great time in Wolfsburg and I will always carry the team and the city in my heart," Naldo said. "Everyone knows how much the clubs means to me, but Christian Heidel has really convinced me in our talks to make the transfer."
Ronaldo Aparecido Rodrigues, known as Naldo, plays since 2005 in Germany's top flight. He spent seven years at Werder Bremen before he moved to Wolfsburg in 2012. The former Brazilian international made overall 298 Bundesliga appearances and provided 38 goals.
Schalke newly appointed sporting director Christian Heidel added: "It was enormously important to sign such an experienced player for such a young and talented team."
The "Royal Blues" completed the Bundesliga season 2015-2016 on the fifth place, which grants them a place in UEFA Europa League. Meanwhile eight-placed Wolfsburg will have to focus on domestic matters.
