6 Egyptian soldiers killed in attack by outlawed elements

At least six Egyptian soldiers were killed when they were attacked by a group of smugglers and outlawed elements during their patrol in Bahariya Oasis late Saturday.
The soldiers were attacked after they have arrested 68 smugglers and seized large amounts of weapons, ammo and drugs, besides preventing illegal border crossing of 936 people during May, according to officials from the Egyptian Armed Forces.
A thorough investigation will be conducted to arrest those responsible, said the officials, noting that they will continue to patrol areas and arrest suspects and law violators
