Military spokesman: 12 servicemen, 15 suicides killed in N. Sinai

Up to 15 terrorists were killed in a firefight with army personnel in North Sinai, Military Spokesman Mohamed Samir said on Friday.

Clashes erupted after an armed group attacked a military checkpoint in North Sinai earlier in the day.

Also, 12 servicemen were killed and six others injured in the attack, the spokesman added.

He stressed that such heinous acts will not prevent Egypt's army from protecting the Egyptian people.

The area is being combed in search of other takfiri elements, the spokesman concluded.
