An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Sorkheh in Semnan province, Northern Iran, on Monday. The Seismological center of Semnan province affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at the epicenter located in an area 53.2 degrees in longitude and 35.3 degrees in latitude. No reports have been released yet on the number of possible casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
