quake hits 175km WSW of Port Hardy

 An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted 175km WSW of Port Hardy, Canada at 03:13:57 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 11.0 km, was initially determined to be at 50.25 degrees north latitude and 129.79 degrees west longitude.
