A 5.7-magnitude quake jolts Java Island in Indonesia.

Shallow undersea quake with magnitude of 5.7 jolted eastern parts of Indonesia on Wednesday, but there is no tsunami warning, the meteorology and geophysics agency said.

The quake struck on Wednesday morning with epicenter at 86 km northeast Maluku Tenggara Barat and depth at 10 km under sea bed, an official of the agency told China's (Xinhua) News Agency by phone.

Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
