6.2 earthquake anear Japan

 The U.S. Geological Survey says a 6.2-magnitude earthquake has struck near Japan's Bonin islands archipelago some 800 kilometers (500 miles) south of Tokyo.
According to AP, the U.S.G.S. said the earthquake struck at 1955 GMT Monday at a depth of 512 kilometers (318 miles).
There were no immediate reports of casualties. The U.S. National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration has not issued a tsunami warning following the quake.
