An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted 23km W of Coracora, Peru at 2014-08-24 23:21:43 GMT on Sun (2014-08-25 07:21:43 Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 15.0 km, was initially determined to be at 15.0 degrees south latitude and 74.0 degrees west longitude.
