All the families affected by the 5.6-magnitude earthquake that hit Algiers early Friday morning, and living in flimsy houses will be rehoused immediately in new housing units, said Minister of State, Minister of Interior and Local Authorities Tayeb Belaiz.
In a statement to the press during his visit to some districts of the capital accompanied by Wali (governor) of Algiers Abdelkader Zoukh and Civil Protection Chief Mustapha Lahbiri, Belaiz said that following today's quake, the families living in flimsy houses and buildings will be rehoused this evening.
Belaiz also said that the 5.6-magnitude quake caused no material damage.
