The People\'s Republic of China has approved a five-year nuclear safety plan. China\'s cabinet also approved a long-term related-goal reached during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. China suspended approvals of new nuclear power plants in the wake of Japan\'s nuclear crisis in March 2011 following a devastating tsunami which caused a number of nuclear accidents, primarily the ongoing level 7 meltdowns at three reactors in the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant complex, and the associated evacuation zones affecting hundreds of thousands of residents.(QNA)
