An earthquake measuring 5.5 on Richter scale rocked region at 83 km southwest of Padang Sidempuan, in Indonesian North Sumatra on Thursday morning. According to the official website of the Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics, the quake did not have a potential to trigger a tsunami. The quake epicenter is located at coordinates 0.93 northern latitude - 98.67 eastern longitudes with a depth of 29 km, according to Indonesian (ANTARA) News Agency. No aftershock was reported after the incident.
