Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy said that the ministry, in cooperation with the Global Environment Facility and the World Bank, disposed of 220 tons of the cancerous lindane insecticide.
Fahmy said that the highly toxic and hazardous insecticide, which was stored in Al Adabeya port in Suez city, was disposed of using the latest technologies and according to the UN standards.
Fahmy pointed out that the Ministry of Environment is doing its utmost to keep Egyptians safe, adding that a number of projects will be announced soon to reduce pollution in Abu Qir firm in Alexandria and Al Max area.
