Hurricane Kenneth has begun to rapidly weaken in the Pacific Ocean, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Wednesday. Kenneth, a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph, was about 840 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico, heading west at 9 mph, the center said in its 4 a.m. EDT advisory. No coastal watches or warning were in effect. Kenneth was expected to turn north-northwest Wednesday and should remain on that path through Thursday, the center said. It was expected to weaken to a tropical storm by Thursday.
