Earthquake shakes New Zealand's north Island

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Bay of Plenty region on east of New Zealand's North Island Monday.
The quake struck at 2.14 p.m. local time at a depth of 113 kilometers, about 25 km west of the town of Murupara, according to the government's GeoNet monitoring service.
GeoNet described the quake's intensity as light.
The quake was felt in the city of Tauranga to the north and down in the South Island, according to reports.
