An earthquake measuring 5.7 Richter scale struck off eastern parts of Indonesia on Sunday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said here. The quake hit at 18 : 03 p.m. Jakarta time (1103 GMT), with epicenter at 256 km southwest Sangihe island of North Sulawesi and with the depth at 529 km, the agency said. Indonesia is prone to earthquake as it sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
