Preparations are afoot

Preparations are afoot in Dubai to renovate the fishing ports and harbours to revive the legacy of forefathers. This was revealed in a meeting held here at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) office.
The move follows the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on preserving the traditional profession and legacy of the forefathers.
The meeting was attended by Lt. General Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the office of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeinah, General Commander of Dubai Police, Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman, Executive Director of the RTA, and Salah Al Amiri, Assistant Director-General of Dubai Municipality for Environment and Public Health Services.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the rehabilitation, establishment of facilities and ports for fishermen in the areas of Jumeirah and Hamriyah while maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the shores of the emirate of Dubai, and organise the process of mooring boats at ports and locations close to them, and provide the necessary support for fishermen in addition to facilitating their work.
It also agreed on the timetable for the implementation of the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to complete all the development work of the fishermen facilities within three months.
The development team is composed of Al Fattan, Al Mazeinah, Al Tayer, Hussein Lootah, Director of Dubai Municipality and Ahmed Mahboob, Director of Dubai Customs.
