Sudanese First Vice President Bakry Hassan Saleh opened on Thursday meetings of the Nile Basin water resources ministers grouping the 10 Basin member states.
The Egyptian delegation to the meeting is led by head of the Nile Water Department Ahmed Bahaa Eddin.
In his inaugural speech, Saleh asserted his country's keenness on promoting joint cooperation among the Nile Basin member states.
The Nile Basin province is full of resources but ecological deterioration and spread of poverty hamper optimal harnessing of these potential, he added.
