The exhibition “Discover American Deserts and Rock” of American artist and photographer Tom Till shows 26 stunning landscape images of southwest America. The photo show was held at the American consulate premises on Tuesday. “A show like this is a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange between Saudis and Americans. It reminds me how much alike we are. It is an honor to have many Saudi photographers here to share Tom’s experience and knowledge,” said American Consul General Anee S. Casper. Tom Till is a foremost landscape photographer. In his nearly 40-year career he has authored over 30 books, published hundreds of thousands of images and has prints displayed in every corner of America and the globe. Outdoor Photographer magazine described him as one of the greats of landscape photography. An ardent traveler, Till has photographed in all fifty US states and in 100 countries across the globe. Till said Saudi Arabia is the 101st country he visited. He photographed the old town of Jeddah. About his exhibition in Jeddah he said that the photos were landscapes of Southwest of America, the desert and mountain areas of Arizona, California, Utah, Colorado, State Park, Nevada Desert, Las Vegas and Mexico. “I am constantly inspired and filled with great joy as I experience and photograph the infinite beauty of the landscape of the earth,” he added. From April 11 Tom’s exhibition “America the Beautiful; Fifty States in Their Glory” will be held in Riyadh. Visitors will not only see stunning landscape from each of the fifty states but also images of some of the most beautiful desert scenes in the country. American Ambassador James B. Smith said it is an honor to have the American legendary photographer in the Kingdom. He further said that he hopes this photographic journey through the United States inspires Saudis. “America’s doors are open, and I encourage Saudi friends to visit our national parks. You will find in these photographs many depictions of the national parks, including Yellowstone National Park, which was established in 1872 and is the world’s oldest national park,” he said.
