Hasna el-Bacharia at Hayy Festival in Cairo

Algerian singer Hasna El-Bacharia participates in the 9th International Music Festival "Hayy," to last until July 25th in Cairo, alongside many Arab artists, said the organizers.
Born in 1950 in Bechar, Hasna El-Bacharia has a career of more than three decades. She is considered as one of the finest female voices of her generation.
Famous singer of genre Diwane (liturgical music of the religious brotherhoods of southwestern Algeria), she imposed herself as the only woman to play guembri, instrument traditionally reserved for Maalim (masters) of this genre.
Named the "female pillar of Diwane", the artist gave concerts in Paris as from 1999.
Her patriotic album "El-Djazair djawhara" (Algeria is a gem in 2002 earned her a resounding success including outside Diwane fans.
Hasna El-Bacharia has successfully participated in several international festivals in Algeria and throughout the world.
