The 13th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) will host the world premiere and directors cut of Bollywood director Aditya Chopra’s ‘Befikre’. Starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor, the film will be presented to DIFF audiences at the Madinat Jumeriah, home of DIFF. The brand-new Hindi romantic comedy will premiere on Dec. 8, 2016.
Shot on location entirely in Paris, the upcoming hit is being labelled as the most progressive take on modern day relationships from Yash Raj Films.
‘Befikre’ meaning carefree in English is a free spirited, contemporary love story of Dharam (Singh) and Shyra (Kapoor), who find love in an impulsive, engaging series of experiences. Doused in the spirit of Paris, it celebrates love and focuses on living to the fullest.
Abdulhamid Juma, DIFF Chairman said: “The world premiere of the eagerly anticipated ‘Befikre’ from Yash Raj Films and directed by the incredibly talented Aditya Chopra following a hiatus of seven years is a major scoop for DIFF. This refreshing new film will appeal not just to the expatriate community but also to Arabs who have a strong affinity for Bollywood films.”
Nelson D’souza, Yash Raj Films, Head of Operations, MENA said: “Yash Raj Films and DIFF have a long history and we’re privileged and honored to have been a part of this remarkable journey with DIFF from the beginning. We’re delighted that ‘Befikre’ has been selected by the festival as it is a film very close to our hearts and as always, we continue to tell stories that reflect the times we live in. We thank DIFF for their support and wish everyone a great festival.”
