A conference on the youth's role in cultural reforms kicked off here on Sunday with the participation of 250 young people of both genders.
The five-day event is organized by the Supreme Council of Culture under the auspices of Culture Minister Helmy el Namnam.
Five general sessions are scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the conference to shed light on the role played by culture in combating violence and extremism.
The conference is held at the request of Mostafa Ezz el Arab, a member of the youth committee at the Culture Ministry's Supreme Council of Culture, who suggested holding a cultural forum for creative youths.
