The Jordanian movie “When I Saw You” won the Special Jury Prize at the 35th Cairo International Film Festival. Written and directed by Annemarie Jacir, the film was made with a local cast and crew and shot in the Kingdom. Set in Jordan in 1967, the feature follows Tarek, an “eccentric young boy”, and his mother, who have just arrived in Jordan to escape the aftermath of the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
