The Fifth National Heritage Festival is to kick off on Friday, January 9, under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village.
Deputy Head of the Festival's Competitions Committee Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah told KUNA Tuesday that the 70-day festival is to embrace many cultural and folkloric events.
The festival will see participation from the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries which will display their heritage through various exhibitions.
Horse and camel races will also be part of the festival's activities along with competitions exclusively for pigeons.
Hefty awards will be given to winners of various competitions that will be held during the festival.
