Constantine - APS
The smooth and spellbinding voice of Lebanese singer Nesrine Hmidane, performing however in a stifling heat in El Khroub games hall in Constantine (431-km east of Algiers) hosting the eighth International Festival of Malouf Music, captivated the large audience attending the event's fourth evening on Sunday.
The Lebanese artist began the evening with ''Maoutini," a patriotic song written by Ibrahim Touqan, with a music composed by Mohamed Flifel.
The warm voice of Nesrine Hmidane and the rhythmic modulations of the five instrumentalists, also performing as a choral, enthralled the audience which responded with loud applause.
The Lebanese star performed afterward a "remake" of one of the most famous songs of Arab diva Fayrouz, namely "Radjaine ya hawa."
Nesrine Hmidane singed many other songs that have marked Arab music, like Mohamed Abdelwahab's "Ya Jarat El Ouad," Oum Kelthoum's "Al Atlal" and Farid El Atrach's "Aiyez matansani."
