Medea - APS
The ninth National Festival of Comic Theatre opened Thursday in Medea (91km southwest of Algiers), in the presence of key figures of the fourth art, famous actors, humourists and men of letters as well as a large audience.
The opening ceremony, held at the Msallah Management Institute's large auditorium, was marked by the presentation, out of competition, of a comic show entitled "Ana ou Ami" (Me and my Uncle).
It tells the story of a proposal of marriage which turns into a nightmare for the suitor.
This edition is dedicated to the memory of actors Hadj Abbderrahmane, known by his artistic name “Inspector Tahar” and Yahia Benmabrouk, who left their marks in the Algerian cinema and also the 4th art, alongside Allal el-Mouhib and Mustapha Kateb.
Eight plays are competing in this edition which will be held from 25 to 30 September to snatch the “Gold Bunch.”
