Oman has captured six Arab Tourism Oscar Media Awards at a function organised by the Arab Tourism Media Center at Rawdat al Bustan Hotel in Dubai.
The Awards are the Arab Heritage Man, which was conferred on Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Rowas, His Majesty the Sultan's Advisor for Cultural Affairs, the Best Leading Personality Award for Mahdi bin Mohammed Al Abdwani, CEO of National Ferries Company, the Best Arab Radio Programme on Local or Arab Tourism for "Rehab Al Masaa" from Sultanate of Oman Radio, the Best Local and Arab Tourism Support Carrier for Oman Air, the Best Arab and Local Tourism Photograph for Omar bin Abdullah Al Shu'aili and the E-Media Award for Al Hadath e-newspaper.
The awards were delivered to winners by Mohammed Abu Zaid Mustafa, Sudanese Minister of Tourism, Archeology and Wild Life.
During the event, the Sudanese Minister of Tourism, Archaeology and Wild Life announced the opening of the Arab Centre for Tourism Media in Khartoum.
The event was attended by Dr. Khalid Al Jardani, Sultanate's accredited ambassador to UAE, Maitha bint Seif Al Mahroqiyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, a number of officials at the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and Arab Tourism Media Center, as well as a number of Arab tourism policy makers and executives at the Arab and world tourism organisations.
