Red Sea Jazz Festival

Using containers as stages, well-known Jazz performers from Israel and all around the world amazed audience with 40 outdoor shows in the Red Sea Jazz Festival that concluded on Wednesday in Israel's southern seaport city of Eilat.
The music festival kicked off four days ago as Israel and Hamas were locked in fierce fighting. But the violence did not dampen the passion of artists and Jazz fans.
Israeli famous guitar player Ofer Ganor and his trio opened the festival by playing excerpts from their album Miles Away. Well-known Jazz performers from Israel and all around the world such as Diane Schuur, Leny Andrade, Omer Avital, Omri Mor, Kellylee Evans put on shows featuring 20 international and local ensembles.
Launched in 1987 at the initiation of the Eilat municipality, the festival is held annually in the last week of August. A four-day Winter Jazz Festival was initiated in 2010 and is held on the third weekend in January.
