SHARJAH - WAM
The fourth edition of the Sharjah World Music Festival, SWMF 2017, is bringing two incredible Emirati acts to stage, the Nagham Al Emarat band and Emirati artist Jasem Mohamad on 14 January to the 1000-seat amphitheatre in Flag Island, one of Sharjah’s most iconic landmarks and tourism sites.
Nagham Al Emarat is talented young local band, which specialises in the Classical Arabic genre of music. Using a motley mix of musical instruments, they will enthral the audience with a harmonious blend of traditional and oriental musical pieces, including Andalusian classic music (Muwashahat), and Qudoud, which are popular forms originating from Aleppo.
Artist Furat Qaddouri, Manager of Sharjah World Music Festival, said, "Through the SWMF platform, we have been keen to highlight the talent of young Emiratis, and support and enable them to represent the UAE on various Arab and global forums. Nagham El Emarat is an exceptionally talented music group who possess the creative talent and capability, which will herald a bright future for them."
