The Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), has announced that the 3rd edition of its popular Dubai Food Festival (DFF), which will run from 25th February to12th March 2016, with the annual citywide culinary celebration set to further enhance Dubai’s position as a gastronomy destination in the region.
DFF 2016 will build on the success of the first two editions that created citywide culinary excitement through a number of food-related activities offering unique experiences for food lovers, restaurants and chefs.
Announcing the dates of the 3rd edition of DFF, Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said, "All our festivals are designed with the aim at enabling and enriching experiences to residents and visitors. Dubai Food Festival is no different offering foodies a chance to explore and savour the many gastronomic delights. Indeed, the overwhelming response to DFF 2015, which was attended by tens of thousands of visitors from different nationalities is testimony to the growing popularity of the festival."
Suhail added, "With DFF being a part of DFRE’s strategy to leverage the multi-faceted festivals and events sector to support Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, we have also been fortunate to receive the wholehearted support of our partners in the private sector to stir up immense excitement in the local and regional culinary scene. As we gear up for yet another edition of DFF, we can assure foodies from around the world that we will roll out yet another special line-up of food-related activities that will showcase the diversity, creativity and multicultural nature of Dubai’s culinary offering – from international brands to traditional Emirati cuisine, as well as from the cuisines of the 200 nationalities living in the Emirate."
The 2nd edition of DFF, which was held across the city earlier this year, from 6-28 February, saw tens of thousands of residents and visitors getting a taste of the variety of food-related offerings with over 30,000 of them heading over to the trend-setting Beach Canteen to enjoy the cuisine dished out by home-grown restaurant concepts and pop-up stores.
