Her short film Quietly, which tackles the subject of abortion, is Mourad's cinematic debut.
She is currently pursuing a master's degree in filmmaking at Bournemouth University in England.
Morocco's Janane Fatine Mohammadi also won first prize for her film Cry of Poppy.
Within the same category, another Egyptian filmmaker, Rana Hashem, won second prize for her film Echo.
In its sixth year, the International Baghdad Film Festival, which ran between 15 and 19 October, screened over 110 movies from 35 countries.
The main competitive sections included the Short Drama Films, Documentaries, Long Fiction, New Horizons (Iraqi Film), the Arab Women Filmmakers and the Human Images competitions.
