Author Carol A Miele was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in October, 2010. Since then, her life significantly changed - for the better. How her life metamorphosed with the life-changing diagnosis is shared in her new book, "Kicking Cancer to the Curb! - A Glimpse of My Life as Seen in the Rearview Mirror and Through the Front Windshield! (published by Xlibris)."
"Kicking Cancer to the Curb!" is a story of determination, indignation, humor, resilience and an overwhelming desire to live a full and meaningful life despite having a terminal illness. Miele's cancer quickly leaped from her left breast to her right, ultimately metastasizing to her bone. But how is it that despite the overwhelming stress and pain of suffering from the illness, she still manages to imbue positivity and enthusiasm to others?
“It’s my desire to inspire people to live their lives as fully as possible," says Miele. "I’d like to help them regain their footing and move forward. I believe a better quality of life and possibly a longer life is possible if you can purge the fear and grief, then replace it with belief in a power greater than you along with a strong will to live."
Relating poignant stories from her childhood, she relives the values and memories that have helped her develop inner strength. Despite seeing life with all its faults, she encourages readers to instead focus on the positive aspects of living, to recognize the goodness in people and to simply appreciate the beauty of little things that make life worthwhile.
"Stand up to cancer and take control of your life. Learn all you can. Do not give in to self-pity or sorrow if you wish to enjoy more tomorrows."
Brimming with inspiration, insight and motivation, "Kicking Cancer to the Curb!" is a resounding celebration of life that invites readers to walk in a path of new hope.
