Two new industrial cities will be constructed in Al Ruwais and Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi while Khalifa Port will be operational by September. The projects were approved during the Abu Dhabi Executive Council\'s meeting, which was chaired by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince\'s court yesterday. Dedicated corridors The Al Ruwais industrial city will cover 14 square kilometres, and is designed to promote the chemical, petrochemical, plastic, cement and building material industries, as well as oil and gas services and logistic and commercial assistance services. The Madinat Zayed Industrial City, spread over 2.5 square kilometres will mainly focus on the oil and gas services, food industries and logistic services. The council discussed the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), and approved the budget for its infrastructure works which are to be carried out this year. The council endorsed the new Abu Dhabi International Airport passenger terminal, to be completed by 2016. The terminal spread over 700,000 square metres will have a capacity of 27 million passengers annually.
