Cairo - KUNA
Arab League called on active international parties on Sunday to pressure Israel to send its negotiating delegation to the Egyptian capital in order to hold indirect Egyptian-US brokered talks with the Palestinian delegation to reach ceasefire in Gaza.
The League is closely following negotiations between the Palestinian delegation and Egyptian officials, Ambassador Mohammad Sabeeh, Arab League's Assistant Secretary General for Palestine Affairs.
Sabeeh reiterated the Arab League's calls for an end to the ceasefire and the chocking siege on Gaza.
He stated that Gaza should be allowed to re-open its airport and sea port to safe delivery of Gaza people with their needs without being endangered by attacks of Israeli army or marine.
Meanwhile, Sabeeh met here today, on behalf of Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Al-Araby, a visiting South African delegation, including envoys of President Jacob Zuma to Palestine and Israel.
During the meeting, Sabeeh assured his country's keenness to ceasefire in Gaza urgently, as well as lifting all types of siege on the Palestinian people in Gaza.
