The total deficit of Egypt's general budget has increased to hit 56.023 billion pounds during July and August, said a report by Finance Ministry on Friday.
The deficit represents 2.3 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), the report said.
The 1.1 percent increase was compared to 0.7 percent during the same period last year.
