International Cooperation and Investment Minister Sahar Nasr

International Cooperation and Investment Minister Sahar Nasr said that Egypt and Jordan agreed on establishing an investment coordination council that will group investors in all fields.
In statements on Thursday following the signing of seven memorandums of understanding within the framework of the Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee meetings, Nasr said that the two sides agreed on setting up another council grouping businessmen of both countries.
She described the council's establishment as an "important event" as it groups investors in the agricultural, industrial, tourism, antiquities and petroleum fields.
The Egyptian and Jordanian sides also agreed on outlining four documents related to housing, consumer protection, sports and agriculture, Nasr said.
They agreed on taking the necessary measures to activate the documents that were previously signed by the two sides, Nasr added.
The two sides also agreed on holding annual exhibitions of products of both countries in Cairo and Amman.
Nasr added that the committee's meetings also stressed the need to benefit from the EU-Jordan Association Agreement, which was signed in July 2016, on simplifying the rules of origin that Jordanian exporters use in their trade with the EU.
She expressed Egypt's keenness on Jordan's participation in "Africa 2017" Forum, to be held in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh on December 7-9.
The forum is organized by the Egyptian Investment and International Cooperation Ministry and the COMESA Regional Investment Agency.
