Electricity Cogeneration and Regulatory Authority said in its annual report for the year 1434/1435 AH (2013) that electricity tariff in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the lowest tariffs in the world.
The report pointed out that this is due to the governmental support for companies producing electricity represented by SR 150 billion per year as a subsidy for fuel prices, in addition to the governmental soft loans.
