A sixth delegation of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, ERC, led by Humaid Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of ERC for International Aid, has started distribution of relief from an aid convoy of 18 trucks, which have been sent by the authority to support those affected by events taking place in Gaza.
The distribution of relief aid to displaced people in shelters has been carried out in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, and is in addition to the distribution of thousands of items of cleaning materials to institutions operating in the Gaza Strip, including detergents, soaps and other materials vital to the clean-up process.
ERC's sixth delegation also toured the U.A.E.'s Field Hospital in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza Strip, and was briefed on its work.
Emad Abu al-Laban, Director of ERC Office in Gaza, said that the U.A.E.'s delegation yesterday started distribution of assistance in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, to Gazans displaced by the recent violence.
Mr. Abu al-Laban noted that the relief aid includes thousands of food parcels, hygiene kits, clothes, blankets, baby milk formula and vitamins and even wheelchairs from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC).
