FEDCOC chief Alaa Ezz

The Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) is working on finishing a feasibility study for establishing two logistic centers to promote Egyptian exports, FEDCOC chief Alaa Ezz said on Thursday.
One of the logistic centers will be established on borders with Libya and the other will be on borders with Sudan, he added.
Establishing logistic centers will come within a framework of partnership between the Egyptian private sector and governments of aforementioned countries, Ezz said in a statement to MENA.
These logistic centers will benefit Egyptian manufacturers and exporters, especially in the fields of commodities of high transportation cost and food commodities, Ezz added.
Regarding local logistic centers, there is a plan to set up logistic centers in all governorates in order to increases availability of food and agricultural commodities by reducing waste ratio by 30 percent, Ezz said.
He hailed “Ahlan Ramadan” exhibition, saying such exhibitions had provided Egyptians with commodities at lower prices compared to the markets.
Meanwhile, he said negotiations are underway with governors in coordination with the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA) to allocate lands in each governorate for setting up trade centers to provide commodities at suitable prices over the year.
