Algiers - APS
A tripartite meeting (government-trade union-employers) to assess the progress reached so far in the implementation of six recommendations made at last February's meeting started Thursday in Algiers.
"The distribution of wealth must be equitable, as it is a pledge made by President of Republic when he applied for the highest office and that made by the martyrs," Sellal said in an opening address at the 17th tripartite meeting (government-union-employers).
The prime minister disclosed that 30 percent of Algeria's GDP (about USD60 billion), go to social transfer every year.
Opened in the presence of the government members, the secretary general of the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, and representatives of business managers, the tripartite will address several issues, including the assessment of the implementation of the recommendations relating to the economic and social growth pact.
The meeting will discuss the repeal or review of Article 87a of the law of 90-11 relating to labour relations.
