The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is committed to supporting Egypt and its people during the transitional period, said IMF Middle East and Central Asia Director Masood Ahmed. The IMF has worked heavily with the Egyptian governments since the 25 January 2011 Revolution as with the present authority in the country, Ahmed said in an interview with Sky News. The IMF is planning to send a special team to Egypt to work on dire economic matters with the government whenever ready, he said. Political turbulence that has marred the Arab Spring countries since 2011 is still overpowering the economic activity in the region, he said, warning that the 2013 economic outlook of the region seems risky and foggy
