The inflation rate increased by 3.2 percent until the end of August compared with a 6.19 percent rise during the same period in 2013, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS).
The department's monthly report publish Sunday attributed the rise resulted from an increase in the prices of rents, clothes, footwear, tobacco, cigarettes, transportation and education.
The rise was coupled with a decrease in the prices of meat, poultry, hygienic products, oil and fat as well as telecommunications.
