Jordan Chamber of Commerce President Nael Kabariti on Monday discussed with Commercial attache at the Egyptian Embassy Mohammad Abdullah means of forging closer economic and trade relations between the two countries. Kabariti spoke of obstacles facing trade and industrial exchange between Jordan and Egypt, mainly the closure of the Taba crossing for goods. “The Jordanian private sector views relations with Egypt as strategic and distinguished, he said, stressing the need to boost trade exchange and remove obstacles facing the flow of goods between the two countries, Petra news agency reported. The Egyptian official stressed his country’s keenness to enhance trade and economic ties between the two countries and reconsider the decision to close the Taba crossing for commodities. Jordan’s exports to Egypt stood at $535 million at the end of June while imports amounted to $576 million.
