Jordan's inflation rate rose to 5.6 percent in 2013, official figures showed on Thursday. In 2012, inflation rate in Jordan was 4.8 percent, according to a report issued by the Department of Statistics a copy of which was obtained by Xinhua. The inflation rate for 2013 was a slightly lower than estimates made by the International Monetary Fund, which said earlier that it expected Jordan's inflation rate for 2013 to reach 5.9 percent. The surge in the inflation rate was attributed to a rise in prices of fuel products, electricity, vegetables and fruits.
