Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa,Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) and Mr. Ali Moosa,Managing Director & Senior Country Officer of J.P. Morgan Bahrain received on Monday18th August 2014 the group of participants who attended the Investor Relations program that was organized by Bahrain Bourse in cooperation with JP Morgan during 26-29 May 2014. During the meeting, certificates were handed out to all the participants who successfully passed the program assessment.
Shaikh Khalifa congratulated the participants who passed the program and clarified, "The program is one of the initiatives that the Bourse launched in cooperation with JP Morgan. It comes in line with BHB’s strategy adopted in 2011to develop all aspects of the Bourse’s operations in which spreading awareness of the best practices relating to IR activities is one of its key topics."
"The keenness of companies and GCC institutions to take part in the program indicates that we are taking the right path with this program where GCC participants comprised more than 40% of the program participants," he added.
Mr. Ali Moosa congratulated the program participants and said: "J.P. Morgan proudly supports the development of investor relations professionals in Bahrain and in the wider region. The firm will continue its commitment to support the growth of transparent and vibrant local capital markets by cooperating with relevant parties, including Bahrain Bourse. "We hope you found the program useful and will be able to communicate even more effectively with the investment community," Mr. Moosa added.
Bahrain Bourse organized jointly with JP Morgan in May2014 the IR Program for the fourth consecutive year. More than 23 participants representing listed companies in BHB and GCC bourses and companies attended the programme.
Bahrain Bourse and JP Morgan started organizing the IR Program in 2011, following the signing of MOU that aims to promote investor relations best practices in the Kingdom of Bahrain through a certified training program that is annually conducted. A group of specialists conducted the programme that covers a multitude of topics including IR principles and techniques, communication tools, valuation, corporate governance and financial statements.
