Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahr Nasr discussed with the new Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Mohamed Farid Saleh and his deputy Mohsen Adel preparations for hosting the 21st meeting of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) by Cairo in November.
They also probed the participation of the EGX in the "Africa 2017" conference to be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in December in Sharm el Sheikh.
In a statement issued on Monday, Nasr urged the new board of directors of the EGX to resume developing the bourse to contribute to improving the Egyptian economy.
She stressed that her ministry pays attention to developing the EGX within the framework of the economic reform program.
Meanwhile, Nasr attended Monday morning with Saleh and Adel the first trading session of the bourse.
