"The new vocational training year will start on the eve of the launch of the 2015-2019 development plan, which aims at implementing the programme of President of the Republic for human development through an integrated policy encompassing many sectors, including education and training," said the minister while kicking off the new session of the National Agri-food Institute in Blida (50-km south of Algiers).

The minister also underlined that "despite the significant progress made so far with the huge efforts to improve the image of training within the society, the interest showed for some specialties like building, agriculture and pubic works remain below the expressed needs in the labour market."
"This is the reason why our country has resorted to foreign labour force for the huge projects part of the different development programmes," said Bedoui, adding that the Ministry "has step up efforts to improve the vocational training and education system in order to face these challenges.
To that end, several agreements have been signed with more than 15 ministerial departments, the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA) and six employers' organizations.
