Kuwait - KUNA
Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Rashid Khalikov lauded Kuwait's recent generous aid of USD 10 million to help in Iraq's displacement crisis.
Khalikov made this remark in a press statement, Tuesday, after meeting with Kuwait Permanent Delegate at the United Nations in Geneva Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim.
Al-Ghunaim, meanwhile, said that the state of Kuwait has always been involved in humanitarian work as part of its foreign policies.
The Kuwaiti envoy pointed out that another substantial donation of USD 10 million was given by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to support the health sector in the Palestinian territories.
On June 29, the cabinet had approved a donation of USD 10 million to help the Iraqi displaced persons who have fled their country due to instability.
