Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab paid an inspection visit to Old Cairo area on Saturday, giving orders to show more care for crafts in the area.During his tour, the premier visited the Culture Ministry's traditional crafts center in Fustat where he was briefed on the activities of the center.He said it was important to provide the center with full care in order to protect Egypt's heritage of these crafts as well as upgrading the skills of the workers and technicians.The premier also inspected a garbage collection station in Batn el-Baqara area.Mahlab also visited the religions' complex in Old Cairo. He went to Mar Girgis Church where he was received by Pope Theodoros of the Greek Orthodox in Egypt and all Africa and the Greek ambassador in Cairo.He also visited the Hanging Church, ordering to hold an urgent meeting with the antiquities minister to discuss the conditions of monasteries and religious antiquities in the area. He concluded his tour with visiting Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque where he performed the afternoon (Asr) prayers.
