President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika signed a presidential decree ratifying the financial protocol between Algeria and Tunisia, inked on 4 May in Algiers, the presidency of the Republic said Sunday in statement.
The financial protocol between Algeria and Tunisia was ratified pursuant article 77-11 of the Constitution, which states that Head of State "concludes and ratifies international treaties."
Three financial cooperation agreements between Algeria and Tunisia were signed on 4 May during the working and friendship visit made by the Tunisian Premier, Mehdi Jomaa to Algeria.
The ratification includes a deposit agreement between the Bank of Algeria and the Tunisian Central Bank, estimated at USD 100 million, a protocol on the granting of a loan by Algeria to Tunisia of and another protocol on granting a non-repayable financial aid.
