Minister of Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Nabila Makram and Minister of Housing Moustafa Madbouli on Tuesday inaugurated a center for extending services for Egyptians abroad.
The center is located in New Cairo and is aimed at accelerating procedures for Egyptians abroad who are seeking to purchase lands in the country.
Makram, in press statements, noted that Egyptian expatriates hit eight million in number.
Figures by the Central Bank of Egypt indicate that remittances of Egyptians abroad hit 11 billion dollars in the period from November 2016 to May 2017 at an increase of 1.1 billion dollars compared to the same period the year before.
